You might want to consider Nebula cards. They do both PCI and USB plug ins that can be mixed. One advantage that the others don't seem to do, is on Freeview, Nebula lets you watch the whole Multiplex, eg I am currently recording CH4, but can change to watch CH4+1, ITV1, More 4, ITV4, E4, CITV at the same time. In fact you can record the whole multiplex at once, (if your HD is big enough!). A pretty good setup is if you have 2 Nebula cards, then you can watch/record 2 full multiplexes of channels at once. Trouble is watching it all!. Also, If your card develops a fault, then Nebula will repair it for you, for about £25. I had a problem with a repaired card, wrote them a letter, and they said "send it in, it will be fixed for free". Its A British Company, a rare thing these days. The software is a bit idiosincratic, but works fairly well, once you understand it. There is also a fairly good independent Forum http://www.digitv-forum.co.uk that helps out with problems. Quite a few of them run multiple Nebula card systems, so lots of advice, and you can see the problems they have, and how they got around them. Some of the Guys have four or five cards in at once, so that's about 30 channels, you better have a very large HD!. My faulty card is a bit of an exception, there are people still running the original cards. As I said in the begining, trouble is finding enough time to watch all the video you have recorded !!!, just as well plug-in USB Hard drives are so cheap !!!!. Oh I forgot to mention, I use the standard XPpro OS, purely because it can cope with large file systems. The later OS's are a bit of a pain in the ..........
