Front Vented Discs and Pads
« on: 05 March 2008, 12:42:04 »

I'm looking to replace the front discs and pads on my 2002 MV6.

Can anyone recommend a good source for these and how much should I be looking to pay?

I've seen thsese below on Ebay.  They seem good value...is there any reason to steer clear or would they be ok?

Any advice greatly appreciated.  :y

General opinion is pattern are not much good,
You are looking at just under £100 for the same from vauxhall on trade club (iirc)

I know its double the price, but will likely last much longer.

That's for an axle kit which includes genuine Vx discs and pads. You will also need one pad wear sensor which costs around a tenner.

If you were in a hurry to get the car through an MOT and did not intend to keep it for long, pattern may just do, but I wouldn't put them on a nice car such as your 2002 3.2L MV6 (why can't you find a 'drooling' icon when you need one?)!

It's not worth buying pattern discs IMHO Been there before with my Senator. You'll just end up buying OE discs later when the pattern discs have warped.  :y

Just ripped off some unworn pattern discs a few weeks ago. Couldn't tolerate them any more - I like the stopping pedal to stop reliably, and the pattern rubbish wasn't very good at that.
