Was the battery holder still conected inside the key properly as these have a habit of breaking off?/
Did you change the battery within 3 mins?

Probably changed battery within three weeks ;D ordered it off e-bay before going to Hong Kong took ages to arrive . But if battery was flat would this still make a differance?

Put key in ign & turn on - no need to start.
Press one or the other of the button ons the fob, the central locking will lock & unlock.
Key sync'd.  :y

Just looking at your car ..... I'm not sure it'll work on a car THAT old.  ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D  :y

Strange thing though ,

Just tried the same procedure with the key that does work and nothing happens when I press the button with key in ignition and ignition turned on :-?

Car is definitly 1998 :-[ miny facelift so you'd think it would work with the operational key but not the 'dead' key , odd :-?
