Health and Safety
« on: 18 October 2007, 16:16:24 »

Just a quick reminder to ensure you all stay safe when working on your miggys.

When welding always wear a face shield.

Before you work under your car make sure its supported safely.

Ensure your work platform is stable.

Wear a safety helmet if there's a risk of falling objects.

Wear a facemask to protect from grinding dust.

Oh no, you can't be serious, how can anybody do these, esp the last guy with a plastic bag over his face. It will do absolutely no good at all, in fact a hot spark will melt the dam stuff onto his face. I find these absolutely horendous, but I suppose in the poorer parts of the world life is still cheaper than a welding mask.

In a similar vein is the video Staplerfahrer Klaus, its a german film about Klaus the world's worst forklift driver. Made as a spoof but it gets a few good points across whilst being funny.
I always think people remember the message better if its fun rather than those stuffy old H&S briefings.

Obviously, should anyone be in any doubt the pics show you how NOT to do it.
As you say Ken Health and Safety is an unnecessary expense is some parts of the world.
Thank god we have laws against that sort of thing over here.
