Always replace with genuine vauxhall sensors.  Cheap ones off ebay etc usually turn out to be a false economy.  Does sound like the crankshaft sensor is needing replaced but does usually flag a 19.

Ah ok, so if I go to my vauxhall dealer they should sell me one?

Also I've seen the walkthrough, finding the sensor next to the oil filter doesn't seem a problem but it is also connected at the back of the engine, does anyone have a pic of this or is it simple enough to follow the lead back?

Its easy to find .. clipped to the engine lifting bracket, next to the injector multi-plug ... follow the injector wires back .... :)

When I did mine I took the scuttle off for easy access.. as I have big hands.. ..

Don't know if this adds anything but when the car was rolled and tried to start it made a sound as if it was firing but just not getting there.......

Have you checked the basics?  I had a little trouble starting the car recently due to the airbox not being clipped on properly. Check the state of the air filter and also check the injector wiring is all intact.  I assume there are no holes or blockages in the exhaust either.
