DVT is what happens when.....
« on: 22 October 2007, 13:59:03 »

You sit on your backside most of the day driving a meega about :'(

Went to the docs this morning on an emergency appointment.......who sent me to the local hospital....
Initial diagnosis is DVT......but have to go for scan on Wed....
Tho there were certain enough to start treatment.....injection in the stomach.....goto go back tomorrow for another  :(

Tho on the bright side......they have said i can carry on working if i want to......as its not gonna make any difference now.....but go back immediately if the pain or swelling gets worse.

So....beware if you have a job where you sit on your backside most of the day  :o

hmmm ... wonder if the "driver involvement pack" so often touted on here would have made a difference ... ????

Sorry to hear that, I know its not good.

My bets mate had it some years ago (only hospital missed it, and it moved from his leg to his chest).  They have told him that he is now on rat poison for the rest of his life :(

Christ knows how they managed that  :o Swelling of calf muscle and painful, can only be two things......DVT or infection....and reason they drained about a pint of blood from me  :o for blood tests.
I have been told if i start coughing blood or get chest pains to go back immediately......there is a slight chance part of the clot can break off and move towards the lungs.....but as they have already started treatment this is unlikely now  :y
