Car cut out and now won't start.
« on: 16 June 2008, 17:39:26 »

My omega cut out on me three times today in the space of about 40 minutes. Each time it would restart after three or four minutes. Then parked up for an hour or so, restarted and it was OK for about half an hour on the way back to the office.

After parking up it would not restart at all. So it is sitting in the office car park. Is this likely to be a ICAV problem, or crankshaft sensor? Perhaps these are good areas to investigate?

Many thanks.

The same happened to my Omega, not in Qatar, however change the 'crank sensor' all should be ok.

It decided to start just now. I assume these crankshaft sensors when defective work intermittantly.

Floor the accelerator and put your foot on the brake, turn the ignition on and count the ECU flashes.....

Quite often yes.
You will need to have the codes read tho, cos you can't do a paper-clip test on the 3.2 :(

10 4 2 10
10 3 2 9
