whats the millage on your 2.5TD?

The standard fit autoboxes (AR25) don't last much past 120k

Needs the stonger AR35 box fitted which was on 3.0/3.2 Omegas.

It's not the box, it's the engine - don't you have any problems with power?
Friend of mine had same code and we started looking for engine fault - we found that sparkplugs were covered in oil (2.0 petrol). New rocker cover seal fixed the gearbox problem!! :) You may have different problem with your engine power, but I dont know anything about Diesels and cant really help.
There isnt't enought torque (power) from the engine and you get the code. No engine codes?

I just looked at your details and there’s still “TD”. Anyway – check your spakrplugs.

Eh? Sparkplugs? They wouldn't cause the engine ECU to put the gearbox in limp  :-/

Well, he can start from the gearbox. All I am saying is that I had a friend with same fault code and after cleaning sparks from oil, problems disappeared. Oil caused ignition problems and TC didn’t have enough “power” – pump wasn’t creating proper pressure and there was a slippage on the “clutch”.
touque controll circuit low imput – sond like low input, so might be a pump, but might be engine.
Second thought is TC itself. You said that the engine was swapped – did you changed TC as well? AS far as I  remember TD have different from V6. This also might be a cause!!BTW – Yesterday I have unplugged MAF sensor on running  2.2 and had an “Automatic Gearbox” few seconds after !! I will try to do it again today.

When you did the engine change, did you swap just the block or the entire loom.....was the donor from a manual?

the engine change i done was a petrol 2.5 v6 elite and not my td as thats running sweet , i got the 2.5 v6 as a non runner as it had dropped a piston and the cheaper option was change engine and it runs fine untill u put in drive then it locks itself in snow mode and sports mode is not working either any ideas  i put it on computer and the only code it come up with was toque converter low imput and it wont remove it from stored fault codes
