Cutting out.
« on: 13 July 2008, 13:32:23 »

Hi hope someone out there can help as this problem is driving us nuts, we have a 2001 2.2 omega saloon when she gets down to a quarter of a tank of fuel mark it is as if she is running out of fuel juddering loses power and cuts out. Have checked that the gauge is reading correct which it is, and have run her through to near empty once and she keeped going so there is fuel there, yet when i fill her up there is no problem she runs ok until she gets down to the quarter mark. Does anyone know what could be causing this problem? Many Thanks for any help, Dino.

Have you changed the fuel filter lately?

Are the plug wells free from oil and water?  There have been a few 2.2's that the scuttle leaks onto the engine, causing damp plugs, easy enough to check  :y

Cleaning the throttle body and breathers can also help with running with these, bad a huge difference when we did ours.
