Dont forget Brookside.................actually,  forget Brookside ;D
Sorry, I am far from a soap fan.  Used to have to sit through crossroads when I was little, and corrie/emmerdale farm when I visited the grandparents.

But unless someone is shot, kidnapped, sleeping around etc, the producers aren't happy. Or they feel they have to deal with 'real issues', so have to have gays/lesbians coming out, AIDS, religious controversy, abuse etc etc dragging out story lines for months.

Saying that jaime i must admit i don't like seeing gays/lesbians in TV programs they disgust me but we cant get away from watching it  on the tv because they put them in and i think its wrong....

I'm broadly in agreement with TB on this. Eastenders is dire - it doesn't reflect real life as the Beeb is fond of saying, but there are many that think it does and try to emulate the characters. It is depressing, violent and, well, plain awful to my mind.

However, I did say broadly in agreement. Working from home and generally taking my lunch from one to two, I can often be seen watching the news and Neighbours. Yes, Neighbours! I do admit to getting a morsel of enjoyment from watching TV from a land where barbies are the norm, every house has a pool, people don't stay miserable for more than two minutes and (this is the clincher) the car mechanics all seem to be nubile young wenches. ::)  :y

Mind you, for real enjoyment, I love the re-runs of Dead Ringers on Radio 7

http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbc7/listenagain/wednesday/

I've just listened to "Doctor Who" phoning up the MoD and enquiring what preparations have been made for a dalek invasion.
