Water in rear passenger footwell....help!!!
« on: 18 August 2008, 12:19:09 »

Hello Peeps,

Anybody have any clues as to where water might be getting into my Omega Estate?

During the heavy rain recently I am getting a large amount of water gathering in the rear passenger footwell.  The most I've had is a couple of inches :o

Many thanks, Lee

Hi Lee,

Water in the footwell is a common Omega problem and is easily sorted. Try this

And if that fails to resolve the problem (& you have a sun roof) check the N/S drain at the front.
...and if that fails to remedy it, buy your rear-seat passenger a snorkel! ;D

Totally agree, had it on two Omegas. However - he did say REAR footwell, suppose it still could be if the car was on a slope.

Mine was sat level in the drive ... but after some spectacular heavy rain i checked mine the next day to find my scuttle full of water and the front and rear nearside footwells wet....... ( mind you he said a couple of inches ... i never had that much )........ cleaned scuttle out and i've never had a problem since , even after more spectacular rain  :y

just done mine last weekend, never knew you could have so much water in the car, both passenger front and rear footwells running with water. make sure you get a vax or similar water sucker/hoover in the footwells. mine are bone dry now even after the heavy rain this weekend :y.
think im gunna take the front seat out, lift the carpet, cut out the sound deadening and replace with new.
