Vac line not connected is going to allow unmetered air into the plenum. Can you get the codes cleared and try it with the vac pipe reconnected Mike? Anyone local with an OBDII lead that can read/clear for you?

Yeah local Vx :-X
Take that as a no then. Might be an idea to invest in one of those ELM code readers like Entwood has. I imagine it would easily pay for itself against a code read at VX rates.

Like one of these?

The one Entwood has is a cable that plugs into his laptop send him a PM I'm sure he will be able to advise you. Don't know if the cheapo I have will talk to a 2.6 as I've never tried it.

Thats far posher than the one I have .. and probably better as well !!

This is the cheap version that I have ...

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/OBD-II-ELM327-USB-Tool-Interface-Scanner-CAN-BUS-V-1-2a_W0QQitemZ370084099788QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item370084099788&_trkparms=72%3A1121|39%3A1|66%3A2|65%3A12|240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

It put out the light for the Emissions problem .. but they were still there with the "pedal trick", had to have the memory cleared by Tech2. Also took about 18 days to arrive if memory serves.

If I were to be buying now I'd go for the GS500 ... in fact I'm tempted anyway ...

Was there any visible signs of damage or cracks on the coil packs Mike? Any visible reason for the failures?

Ps well done on your second place by the way.

Would this also work fine on pre facelifts? Would it have the connections or are they the same on the facelift anyway??
