Airbag Light Has Come On
« on: 13 September 2008, 19:50:29 »

Ok as stated airbag light has come on (mini facelift so airbags in front seats too) could this just be wiring to the seats come loose as it wasnt on before and hasnt had a bump or something else?

How can you turn it off? Reset procedure or tech2?

Cheers, Chris.

Cheapo or real Tech II to read the fault code & then re-set. My Astra's air bag light was due to a faulty seat belt pretensioner.

Chris, Had this a while back, turned out that the multi-plug under the seat had loosened somehow. Pushed it back in no more airbag light :) :)

You'd still have to reset it though ....  :-/
I fixed the fault with my Astra but the light didn't go out till it was reset, same as IrmscherKris's Omega.

When I owned a series of Citroen Xantias, 99.9% of the time it was the seat connector.  Only real cure was to solder the connections together...hopefully, VX used better connectors!

paper clip/pedal trick only read engine ecu. Wont hurt to do it at any point, but i dont think the air bags have anything do with the engine ecu. How does the omega deal with child car seats? Does it have option to deactivate the pass side?
