When one of my bulbs failed, it went very pink / purple 1st.

I replaced the pair with a cheap pair off ebay, been fine for a yearish.

I would, however buy a lower colour temp set next time, bought 6000k.
vauxhall genuine are 4300k and a better light.

When my 'meega was new, I went to Vx to buy a spare bulb just in case.

Vx said they bulb cost £80, but they don't stock them because they never fail, other than through a frontal impact.

Mine certainly worked fine for the 6 years I owned the car...

And yes, I took the passenger-side headlamp out to get to the bulbs, it's either that or the remove the battery.
