'Coolant level' means it's low .... or at least it thinks it's low. Have a look at the header tank, driver's side wing (lift bonnet first  ::)) and look where the level is relative to the line on the bottle. Be aware though that a hot engine will give a slightly lower level than if the engine is cold - the line has an arrow pointing towards it with 'kalt' (German for cold)
If it's significantly low, leave the car till the morning when it's cold & top up to the line. If it already at the line, it could be the sensor in the bottom of the header tank that's failed.

Is that the water tank? It's the only one i can think of. I thought it was pretty full.

It's called a header tank, yellow cap on the driver's side of the engine bay and will spew hot water out if you open it now!!  :o
If it's at or above the level line, then the level switch, which it a part of the tank is likely to be goosed. Either unplug from the switch & bridge the two terminals in the plug to turn the message off, or replace the header tank - £30-ish

Yep, more than likely the sender is full of poop that stops it functioning correctly.  Easiest just to pick up a new header tank from a breakers (or here!) and swap the whole lot as I don't think it's designed to come apart.

Cheers,
James

If it is low and you top it up use a 50:50 mixture of water :Vx antifreeze  if you don't you gradually reduce the concentration of antifreeze and get many more problems long term .. :(

For the price of a nice shiney new bottle, I'd not bother with the scrappies.
