How would I check if leads are all ok? Would a continuality check with a multimeter do the trick?

My mates V6 Vectra Gsi did this not lond after he bought it. He replaced egr valve, air flow meter, coil pack, spark plugs, crank sesnor and leads. Any way of testing these to eliminate them out of the problem?

I'd start by searching for an air leak on the inlet side of the engine, including the vacuum pipes. Any leak here will throw up all sorts of strange codes and give the same symptoms! I had the same problem after I'd had the plenum off... Turned out i'd caught a sealing ring and had a leak under the plenum :-[ :-[ :-[

It made your car misfire? Would a leak in the exhaust on the top exhaust manifold make it misfire? Cos thet would make engine loose pressure wouldnt it? Thanks for help. Will go searching tomorrow morning  :y

On the odd occasion it would idle it seemed to have a miss... Still think it's sucking in unmetered air! Check the o rings under the plenum if it was removed to do the other jobs :y :y

Bit of an update. Just pulled the bottom sparkplug off on bottom drivers side and no change in engine revs and no sparking noise.
Pulled top one off and engine revs dropped, misfired worse and could hear lead sparking. Faulty lead, plug ou coil pack? :-/
