TD breather hoses?
« on: 21 January 2009, 19:24:22 »

Hi,

My omega is idling at just under 100rpm when I switch on in the morning, was just over 500rpm last week. Blocked breather hoses? Anyone like to point out where to check? Diagram maybe? :-/

Cheers,
Iain

Idle increases as it warms up? Suspect CTS?

(Note: being a BMW engine, most failing or failed sensors do NOT bring on EML)

Hi,

CTS? Idle doesn't increase, soon as throttle is moved it dips back to 500rpm

Coolant temp sensor.  2 CTS on that beemer unit, both in head. One (the single wire one) is used for dash, other (2 wire) used by ECU

If yours is paperclippable (about 50% of TDs are), iirc, cts is a 15

Stat is easy on TD, though unrelated to your idle

Don't forget - viscous fan is left-hand thread.
A sharp jolt usually starts it undoing.
