If you update your profile with car details i am sure someone will be able to advise.

You can buy a whole car for 700, so ask the breakers on the forum as they might have the part you need

Fuel pump (I believe but could well be wrong!) is in the fuel tank...

Presumably if you get a second hand fueltank/pump it wouldnt need reprogramming and will cost a LOT less than £700 even if it needs delivering and you could fit it yourself most likely  :y

Got one here depending upon what car you have...

I'm guessing we're on about the pump that lives on the engine...in which its normal name is the injection pump.

yeah i think on reflection of the price iv`e been quoted it is the one the under the bonnet. I`m having loads of bother starting it up from cold, i`ve had the heater plugs changed and it`s still the same. it turns over no probsand takes ages to start but somtimes refuses to come to life.

I dont know much about diesels, petrol fuel pumps in the tank...but I know you could get a second hand pump for a diesel for much less than £700!!

Your problem is the lift pump un the tank
Diesel is different from petrol version
Cost approx £112 new
Wear rubber gloves when fitting as you will have your hands in Diesel!
