dash warning light
« on: 09 February 2009, 17:26:09 »

Hi there  i'm new to this forum.
I drive a omega 2.2 Gls estate on a 02 plate, i live in the rotherham area, is ther anyone that can help me with a problem?
I have a light on the dash its a car with a spanner through it, it comes on when i'm driving, but its not stopping the car from running or giving any problems at all, the car is 5 speed box and not auto.
could anyone help me sort this problem without going to the dealers?
cheers!!!!

Had the same problem with mine and after countless trips to a garage they couldn't find the fault so gave me my money back. Like yours the car ran fine and it ended up being the MAF sensor needing replacing. Unless you have the code it is difficult to diagnose but try and not waste your money going to a dealer to get it read. I am not sure if the pedal test works on a 2.2 but it is worth a try :y

I don't think you can do a pedal- nor clip test on a 2.2

Hi - had the same on my 2.2 - spanner light would come on but no affect on engine and performance - cured it by having the throttle body and breather pipes cleaned - garage said they were extremely dirty - had them done at 94k - now 111k and no problems

unless you get those codes read, all you will get are guesses.
