my engine keeps cutting out
« on: 07 February 2009, 16:49:58 »

hi i am having a bit of a problem
as the car gets hot it cuts out it started when i was coming back from bluewater on the a2 as i came to the roundabout it just stopped put it in to n and started again it did it about 3 times before i got back home
i  believed it was idle control vale as the chip is missing but it has started to stop when it gets hot if it is just sitting or driving so it may not be the i,c,v  anyone know if there is a common problem or if i am just unlucky .
i have put it on the computer and said it was the chrank sensor  but don't know i have bin told sometimes the computer can be wrong
please help :'(

What were the codes - 19 is crank sensor.

Cleaning the ICV with carb cleaner costs very little, doesn't take long and could well cure your problem - try it first!

Its crank sensor symptoms.  Every v6 owner should carry a spare ;D

Your car could take 1 of 2 types, most likely the plastic type.

Stick to genuine GM for this part if possible.

Hi
This sounds to me to be the air mass sencer in the trucking from the air filter, may be the fuse link is on the way out, usual signs may be engine hot but temp ok, fuel comsumtion a bit high if you can souce another to try first, they are expensive about 80.00 plus and i think their are two.
    See how you go  :)
