transmission warning light on
« on: 17 February 2009, 14:10:19 »

hi everyone. not been on because car has been so reliable until now !!
I have the following problem. The transmission fault light is on and the car/spanner light is on. car goes into limp home mode when in drive but not in 1,2 or 3.
I have a 2.2 gls 2001 estate.
The following codes have been read
1. generic code - P0705 transmission range sensor A circuit (PRNDL)
2.Vauxhall code - 1700 transmission control module (TCM) service request signal.
I fear it may be the £250 selector switch but dont want to spend all that money if it is something a little cheaper. not been underneath yet.
any help or comment will be appreciated
