Might be a bit of a problem in the manifold department as the Saab has the V6 mounted transversly

Is it the same block as the Y/X30's?

Remember that the turbo is integrated into the manifold on these :y

theres no point doing this engine swap, the naturally aspirated version of this engine is flat as a fart (about 170bhp and slightly less torque than the omega engine) and then the turbo engine gets the same 200bhp with 40/50nm more torque so for the price of the engine, ripping the old one out and putting the saab lump in i dont think it's really worth it imho!

n/a engine as found in the 9000s makes the same 207 bhp and 199 lb/ft as the Omegas.

The only reason the turbo 9-5 V6 makes a mere 200, is due to the lowered compression. As stated though, more torque is your reward, and a modified block means it's less inclined to lunch the bottom end if further torque is extracted :y

afaik the 9000 v6 is actually a 2.5....also if you go on the saab forums they'll slate the 3.0 because it's like a wet fart for a turbo v6

No. The 9-3 came with a 2.5, but also didn't come initially with the full blown 2.3 due to the fact that the block had to be mounted at quite an angle.

The n/a 3.0 was most commonly found in the 4dr Griffins, (one of the the fewest and furthest between models at that)

Whilst Saab made the X30XE robust enough to cope with the modifications they made to it, that couldn't work miracles.

With your wild stereotypical Scandinavian 4-pots to hand, the V6 would seem odd choice to mod.........for Saab owners ;)

are you on about the 9000 wen you say 3.0 griffith?

the later 3.0 on the 9-5 is pants imo-it's got good torque but for a turbo 3.0 there's no point when you can get the same bhp without the turbo, if he's going for a saab lump then the v6 really isnt the best option to play with...or be a nutter and get a volvo 850R lump which will happily go upto 590 bhp if you have the money lol!
