Afternoon all,

According to the chap at VX parts I just spoke to (I've not stuck my head in to check) I will have the paper element filter on my car.

As I am going to be cleaning the breather system and changing the oil this weekend, I was wondering whether I should be considering a change over to the metal can filter at the same time.

Anyone know if there is any benefit to be gained??

Splendid, just the answer I like to hear.

I only asked as I recall seeing a conversion in the "how to" section a while back. Thought I ought to ask just in case, seeing as I was going to be fiddling with things anyway.

theres no performance difference as the paper one is just the same as changing an insides of a normal one so its only difference is its cheaper

People only usually swap over because the metal can type tends to get over tightened and damaged. Pigs to remove when in that state . Sometimes you have to go down the conversion route because you just about destroy the thing taking the cap off. My advice is if yours is in good order (use a 24 mm socket or spanner only) then keep things as they are mate.
