Screeching noice
« on: 16 March 2009, 21:55:04 »

Still struggling to locate this screching noise. Its much worse when I opened the passenger window so I guess it coming from the NS.

Given in and gonna take it to the garage to diag tommorow, more money :'(

I did slip the car into neutral today whilst moving and the noise continued. Does the drive shaft stop spinning when you are coasting?

I'm still thinking it has something to do with the wheels/brakes though. Warped discs maybe?

No.  ;)
You'd be able to feel warped discs when you braked, the pedal would pulse under your foot.
It could be a stone trapped between the disc & back plate  :-/  :-/

Close, but no biscuit!

There is a clip which sit against the brake pad, almost like a cross shape. That had snapped and a bit of it had wedged against the disc.

All sorted now and a big smile on my face :)
