Gearbox Question!
« on: 08 April 2009, 10:07:55 »

Hi does anyone know if a 2l box will fit on a 2.5 V6 engine?

I know the ratio's wont be the same but will it fit?

Any help would be great!

also a little knowledge on the ratio's wouldnt go a miss!

im guessing if it does fit it will give me better low down grunt but i will
loose top end!

can anyone conferm this for me!

thanks!

Both the 2.0 and 2.5 use the same R25 manual box.

So you want to go from a 'auto' to 'manual'.
If so you need more than just the box.

Is it not easier to just buy a manual?  :-/ I've seen loads of 2.5's with 3 pedals for those 'who want to be in control'  ;)  ;)

I see where your coming from :)  the 2.5 ive got is in fantastic condition and i only paid £100 for it with the blown auto box!

i dont mind spending the time converting it to manual as this is going to be an on going project anyway ;)
