Thanks for all the info, I have been offered £1500 for both cars, as they are so make take the money and start again :) I wasnt going to attempt the pump on my own as Ive found a guy who was going to help me. He hates taking the manifold off so if I do that he has the tools to do the rest :y but he hasnt said how much its going to cost me yet :D

He's happy to do the pump, but not removing the manifold  :-?
Don't take this the wrong way, but the manifold removal is 20 minute job and is a piece of cake compared to replacing the pump, does he know what is involved ?

Ali, are you getting another Miggy?  It would be a pity to lose you from this board, your determination to get your hands dirty and learn how to repair your cars has been a delight to see.  You've definitely got the 'bug'!  I love your avatar, btw - I think it sums up your attitude to fixing your car perfectly!   :)

Yes Ali i must commend you although i havent posted much as i dont have a clue really with the 2.5TD it has been nice to see your enthusiasm in trying to fix/diagnose the problems with your cars

Omegas are generally very good cars they just require maintenance like any machine! if you get another one get one with a FSH and thats been cherished they do exist!
