I don't see why the cam belt should be changed if it's wet? It gets wet when driving in the rain! How very odd!!!

As long as the cam belt hasn't moved and looks OK it doesn't need to be touched.

right just spoke to my dad and he has been taking to his mate that works for vauxhall he has just read up and said that its 2.9 hours labour and that if the cam belt has got any water on it that should be changed aswell. does that sound about right

If the cambelt is not far off needing a change I would do it at the same time as you have to removed the same bit to get at the cambelt and waterpump

2.9 hours for a water pump - he having a laugh!!!  1.5 hours tops including a tea break.

He's thiking it is a 4 pot where the cambelt drives the water pump.  it does not on the V6.  water will not damage a cambelt!!!

however, seconding earlier advice, if your cambelt is due for a change, then do it now as most of the same bits need to come off

is there any one near me that would want the job? as tonight i bought a little run around to get me about for a bit and im just gonna park it up and save the money to get the job done but trust vx any more.
