Battery failing in remote fob :question

could be mate  :y

trouble is i've just found a spare remote of a old mig  :y

can it be programed to this car with the alarm red led flashing ?

would i be better off just disconecting the battery for a bit and maybe the thing will reset somehow ?

all doors are deadlocked at the moment  :'(

yeh, led's working on the remote  :y

fuses seem ok  :y

and just to confuse you even more ............ last night, the sunroof was tilted when it started to rain.
rather then going outside, i unlocked the car using the remote ( from the doorstep ) and then locked it using the remote ( keeping my finger on the lock button ) to shut the sunroof ........... it shut no problem :y

NOW and here is the good bit .............. just sat in the car with the ignition on and opened the sunroof  :y

great, that works but as soon as i take the key out of the ignition the sunroof shuts on its own !!

Just switch the ignition to number 2, that should stop the alarm. Then try a new battery and re-sync the remote (ign to number 2 and press the lock button, doors should lock and unlock). :y

Yep, unlock the car and turn the ignition to the position II, press and hold the remote button.
