calibra and cavalier are FWD and 1250-1500kg
omega RWD elite or mv6 spec 1600-1750 kg
the kilograms make big different .
cav. or calibra v6 will win race with any 2.5 v6 omega,
but dont thing will win with 3.0 or 3.2
need to try one day, one of members own cav v6 ,
will ask him for race :D somewhere on private road

Have driven a 2.5 auto cav quite a bit, that thing REALLY flies.

I reckon under 60 or so, was quicker than a 3.0 auto omega, never had them head to head though

0-60 2.5 v6 manual in a lighter car id say would edge my mig 3.0v6 auto elite(estate), but after that, with the old sports mode on, im confident of an omega victory!!!

It will be quicker, mainly because the Cav has the better power to weight ratio.
Add to that the Cav is smaller, which means you can brake later for the bends and take them quicker as well.

I have had both over the years.Had a auto 2.5cdx cavalier, which was really quick but as a comfortable car it did leave a fair bit to be desired. The Omega on the other hand is more like a thicker softer matress and carries its speed more elegantly.
Best description would be .v6 cavalier..pocket rocket with little comfort....v6 omega..smooth/comfortable but not a racer.

That I don't know - the Cav is WWD which is a huge problem with cornering.

Yes I have had a WWD follow me into a corner fast when I had a small RWD nearly crash because I braked when he could not

Nobody's mentioned the 3.0 manual, every little helps mine goes pretty well. I've driven a 2.5 Cav & it was quick as break but hard getting the power down.
Regarding the handling MV6's are a tad lower, firmer & have a lower profile tyre, (Goodyear Eagle F1's are the bollix) plus mine's got lowered Irmy springs on the back & handles if you've got the bottle...ask Ian_D!!! V6 Cavs are a tad heavy at the front end, reckon i could hustle a good 2.0 SRi/ GSi through the twisties quicker.

Just my thoughts, Guy. 8-) :y
