Creaking Rear Suspension
« on: 14 August 2009, 09:12:42 »

I particularly notice it when backing out the drive. Am I right in thinking it is likely to be the big subframe mountings over that triangle shaped plate which are worn? How can I be sure? Looking at the Haynes manual it talks about a special tool for getting this bush in and out. How have others done it? And what's the best source for new bushes? Thanks guys. Mark

your on the right track imho. My donut bushes failed the mot, and once changed the creak went away. There is a special tool, and afaik Mark dtm may still have one, but i removed mine by levering with a claw hammer, and pressing back in with 1st a jack and then inverting0the plate with the centre bolt through it. Ill try and find my original thread, (dont bother with carlton bushes they are differant)

I've got a creaky rear too!  ::)

Where are these donut bushes then? Agree with JimBob, a how to would be most useful.  :y
