Transmission Bung missing?
« on: 27 August 2009, 05:53:20 »

Morning OOF,

My Omega is leaking Automatic Transmission Fluid due to a Bung/Seal which has gone missing?

Does anybody know the proper name for it? Because I cant find it anywhere?

Note to Mod: Note sure to where to post this.

Thanks alot,
Alex

the best thing to do is first check the filler hole has got its plug in [on edge of large sump drivers side], if thats in situ then id give the g/box a good clean, top it up [follow "how to guide"] then take it for a run & see where the leak is coming from. :y

If the rubber bung you mean is the one underneath on the bell housing, then atf leakage from here likely caused by g/box front seal knackered - a gearbox out job :(

I've had it up on the lift in my mates garage.

I can see a whole where something goes, and oil inside it.

A photo would help to identify this mysterious bung (or a clearer description)
