aux belt tensioner advice

ihave to take mine off tomorrow, either to replace or just grease. do i need to take the cable tray off first. any tips or advice will come in useful.

I may be wrong but i'm sure when I did mine that I just took it off without removing any other parts, other that the belt of course  :y

15 mm socket/spanner, anti clockwise;)  ;)  ::)

thank god someone knows what there doing, i would have probably gone clockwise  ;D ;D ;D

mines held on with 2 of them silly reverse torx bolts.  :-/ :-/

mines held on with 2 of them silly reverse torx bolts.  :-/ :-/

I was talking about the actual roller so you can remove the 'fan belt', the tensioner itself uses Torx head bolts.  :y
The seconday air pipe passes through the aux belt, so that has to be undone to get the belt off.  :y

But... if you are keeping the old belt you can leave it hanging over secondary air pipe while you work on the idler.

Well worth checking and doing as  I found out at Newent when mine seized up in the middle of the camp site  >:(
