Rattleing noise from top
« on: 22 September 2009, 15:24:52 »

I've got a rattle which seems to be coming from the left hand side of my v6 ( possible camshaft area)
there is a slight cam cover leak so the cover is going to have to come off but this is worrying me.
Don't think it's the tapits ( to loud for that )
camshaft shells ???
Any ideas please

I first though it was the bottom so I dropped the sump this morning to find it clean ( no swarf on bits in there)

Last oil change only 1500 miles ago
but to be honest the oil did look pretty shitty when I dropped it this morning

before that f@ck knows ( last owner was supposed to be a mechanic / mot man from sLady bitshope but looking at the state of the top end rebuild he did I have got
my doubts )
sounds a bit too heavy unless it's stuck solid

Ps.    Pretty sure the previous owner is not on here

Its dead  :'(

left it running for a bit and things seemed to settle down so took it up the road for a very slow drive.
Picked our lass up and started back.
The car lost most of it's power.
Very little vacume on the brakes and sounded worse then ever.
Just about stopped the car on the hand brake outside my house.

I'm no mechanic but how does this sound ???  :'(

ps.   If there is a delay in answering it's because my pc went bang yesterday and I'm typing this on a chuffin I phone  >:(  >:(
