3.2 V6 Elite Coolent Level
« on: 31 October 2009, 15:52:48 »

Hi all

I have just started to get a error message on the car when starting it says 'Coolent Level Low'.

It is not low though, the coolent in the header tank is at the correct level.

Any ideas please?

I have jiggled the little floats inside the header tank to see if they are stuck down but this has not worked.

Many thanks

MJ

Replace header tank mate - sensor in that.

As above, the sensor is part of the coolant tank, you can try removing the tank and cleaning it this sometimes works but its more than likely going to require a new one.

Ouch, cant afford to, I will put up with the error message, it goes nicely with the engine management light that is always on due to the lambda sensor issues.

or just unplug the sensor from the bottom, and short it out with a paperclip....

no more sensor....or error ;)

If you have a look in the meet section theres a plan for a cam belt party, you might have to travel a bit but it will be a dam sight cheaper plus you get to meet some of the lads, have a beer or two and a curry :y

Mark, As said try taking the header tank off and give it a good flush out and clean the little float inside(easy job),i did this to mine when i had the same problem, that was well over a year ago and is still working fine :y.
