Looks like the standard "chepo tech2". The software is really poor and mostly in hungarian language. They can get you out of trouble if you need to read the codes, and will attempt to read most systems in the car but won't do much more than that and can be difficult to get working. They need a laptop with a real serial port (USB adaptors won't work).

I've got one, and it is as Kevin says, though for what they cost i still think they are worth having as long as you don't expect it to be anything like the real GM Tech2 thingy.

And BTW, TheBoy has real Tech2 in case you need anything done and can travel to him, he is more knowledgeable than the guys at the Vx dealer and much cheaper too  :y

If I hadnt bought one of those for preventative checks, and 'just in case'
I couldnt have just got the codes for where to start looking for the problem on the 2.2  :y

Oh, agreed. Definately worth having as they can get you out of trouble and will probably cost less than a single Tech 2 session at a main dealer. Just don't expect too much from the software.

If it completes just one task for you, reads code or reset air bag, then it's paid for itself.  :y

Sorry for hijacking this post, but I thought that you might all be interested in taking a look at our tool: http://www.ukobd.co.uk/gstore/store/g_viewItem.asp?idProduct=82

In the early days we stocked the Hungarian "Tech2", but had constant problems - even when I had made some tweaks to the software.

This tool has fantastic levels of support, and functionality - particularly on the Omega!

Hope that this is of interest.

Err? :-? I think I'd buy 10 'Cheapo TechII's' instead & work around the Hungarian! ;)

I am sure your intentions are good and that the kit does what it says, and I apprecaite the fact that you did not try to hide who you are, but still you should really contact the site's admins before posting this...

for a single user it might be seen as a bit dear, however for the home mechanic who was 'doing jobs for friends'  ;) it has an advantage, especially if it has support.
Friend of mine charges £25 for doing a light reset so in reality it could pay for itself pretty quickly

I disagree, I don't see any reason to ask the admins if this can be posted.

Anyone's welcome to post up about any products of interest etc...

It's ultimately down to discretion of the punter, as to whether they want it, or not :y

Apologies, if I haven't followed forum rules - when I registered I didn't notice this was an issue.  Certainly no offence caused.   I was browsing the forum, and interested to see that there is no discussion on our tool at all, just wanted to make you informed....

I'n not aware you broke any rules at all mate.

I recommend starting a thread in "parts for sale" section, with all the info about your tool. :y
