urgent one on a 2.2 petrol
« on: 12 April 2010, 10:50:42 »

a mate of mine has a 2.2 petrol auto miggy with a factory fitted gas kit ( ex police car )  :y

every now and again, it throws up a bit of a fanny fit  ;D

driving along normally and then, just for a few seconds, it will start to run sh*t then clear its self and of it goes  :(

yesterday, we stuck it on his box of tricks  ( snap on pro ) and cleared a couple of codes

these are from memory

p 1700   canbus service ?
p 1550   throttle position ?

car drove normally for a few hours then he stopped

came back out a hour later and now the car refuses to start  >:( >:(

not had a chance to go and recover it yet

anybody come across this one ??

anybody got any serious ideas ???

sounds like it could be the old 2.2 cam sensor with no really relavent code issue.

Should get rid of TPS code. Car will still start eventually with failed cam sensor

X20XER
X20XEV
Y22XE

So you may be in luck  :y

right, only code stored relates to the gearbox ecu selector ??  ( can't remember the number )  :-[

speaking to a lad who drove it last week, apparently he had trouble getting it to start but cured it by moving the gear selector up an down the gate a few times  :-/
so we are now looking at the selector switch ??

opinions please ??

Cam sensor can cause 1700 code  :y

(search in here on cam and 1700, 1 per thread, since beginning, many many hits)
