Code P1555--TPS. EML illuminates randomly. Symptons; When pressing throttle to pull away engine doesn`t rev at all, release throttle momentarily and press again, all OK. Also happens, albeit not all the time, when accelerating after slowing at junctions/give ways. Same operation, quick release and press down on throttle and OK again. Stripped and cleaned throttle body and breathers, still the same. No other codes and car runs perfect. Any ideas please :-/

On mine after a long run using c. control.when cc turned off there is a very noticable difference in throttle reponse untill car as been switched off.PLus a friend had an 2.2 vectra when he pressed the pedal and got no reponse, the aa man said that what happens when the engine floods .

RobG

No CC and no petrol smell. As said, drives perfect apart from this fault

only time i have un-responsive throttle, was early signs of cam sensor failure  :-/

RobG

Was it the same/similar symptons Tunnie, no revs then a quick release and press and all OK :question

No, i had zero throttle response until i restarted. When it was unresponsive i just had an unusually high idle of 1.2k rpm.

RobG

Idling perfect and no need for a re-start just a quick release & press of the throttle :-/

humm, must be position sensor on the pedal itself  :-/

Auto Addict

Could be the butterfly sticking, try a drop of 3:1 oil (and I mean a drop).
I like red cars

RobG

Dropped 3 in 1 on the butterfly after cleaning body. Are there any contacts or such like on the sensor at the pedal :question

There is a sensor on the pedal (well rather at the back, like clutch switch) Which knows how much you are pressing the pedal, is it possible that's got dirty?  :-/ :-/

RobG

I shall check it out see what I can suss out :y

throttle position sensor is near the throttle on V6, is 2.2 different ?

tunnie

Quotethrottle position sensor is near the throttle on V6, is 2.2 different ?

I *believe* there is another on the 2.2's and DBW on the pedal itself, as non-DBW are physically linked to the throttle body, 2.2 is not.

So could be that sensor getting stuck maybe? Not seen it before though

Sensor on pedal seems OK. Just had this happen, no throttle until switched off then on. Tunnie, did you get the 0340 cam sensor code at all. :question Put the reader on it and no stored or pending codes :-/ Is it possible to have an intermittent fault with the cam sensor and not to throw an 0340 :question
