Has anyone had the gearbox ecu updated on a tractor(2.5td) if so was there any difference in dropping 2 gears going uphill. :y
not to bothered about economy getting about 54mpg breifly on a flat bit off motorway at 55 (lol) normal 26-37mpg ::)

Are you asking if the update can cause it to drop two gears or if it cures it?

also the ecu is interchangable between 2.5 petrol and the 2.5 diesel tried it today with one from a 2.5 V6 the only thing thats different is the big letters ie:ES  SW :y

OK, for those watching this thread, lets see who can work out the fundamental error in hoofingit's gearbox ECU change.

He changed the ecu in his 2.5TD for an ecu from a 2.5v6, yet it made no difference whatsoever, still acted the same, and the changepoints unaffected....

I'll post another clue up later :y
