omega Auto Gearbox
« on: 04 July 2010, 19:16:43 »

I seem to be having trouble navigating this site. In case I have missed replies could I ask again for info on where to get my auto gearbox on a 2ltr W reg Omega re-jigged to change into top gear at around 45 to 48mph.

That`s the normal range for the "lock-up"

You can't in a nutshell.

There is a software update for the ecu that improves changes / change points.  but there are no configuration changes like that possible.

you will need to see someone with a tech2 to have that applied.

on this forum there is one in Brackley Northants, Nottingham, Hampshire, and Fife.  which is nearest you?

My gearbox changes into top at 52mph, and that is too high for the drivers around here who travel at 48 to 49mph meaning I spend a lot of time in 3rd gear.
And I understand that there is a member at Brackley (The Boy) but can't find any way to make contact on his web site. I am assured that this is the man to talk to.

TheBoy can indeed do the update, but is away from the forum this week, should be back in a day or, as such he may have blown his message box by the time he logs in, so give him a few days once he is back, and try again if needs be.
