« on: 10 October 2010, 20:22:16 »

hi  all

i know this is really down to personnel  choice  but what is the average cost of a set of pads and disks  for omeaga 2.5 v6    on a 2000 plate ????????  would it be worth me getting a trade card

also how much would be the appox fitting costs   as i WOULDNT DO THIS  MYSELF

Vx had them on offer recently, less than £100 for both on the TC, try asking andyc on here as he's a parts manager ;)

Fitting shouldn't be that much either using one of regular guys off here, depends if you're travelling to them or the other way around :y

Why not fit yourself? There's a guide (with pictures) in the maintainance guide section and you'll be surprised how easy it is to do.  :y

Always worth having a TC for the twenty quid it would cost you a 4 for 3 on oil would save you that money alone.

I do certain jobs myself plugs and filters and change the oil etc but i  brakes and things i leave to the likes of elite pete or the other traveling guys :y

they really aren't difficult to do your self. Two bolts to hold the caliper in place, and then an M6 screw that helps hold the disc in place. Off old disc, clean up the hub, replace with new disc, refit caliper and ..... that's it!  :y  :y

Very easy to do mate. i've just done the rears on mine. New Vented discs, new pads and i replaced the hand brake shoes while i had it apart too. The hand brake shoes wern't that worn but replaced them as i had a set.
I paid £60 for the discs about £15 for the pads and a tenner for the shoes .Took about 4 hours (loads a T Breaks)

Real cheap skates tap the old one(s) out with a small punch and re use them. If not "tripped" or worn through.

Although i've never seen the pad warning come up, so maybe I'm not a cheap scat after all  ::)

Even cheaper scates  ::) just bin the remains of the old sensors and check the pads visually every few months. ;)
