Sadly kumho don't do rim protection in the 18" size I need  :'(

Not many do other than conti it seems.

But I am interested to see what TB goes for next, as his favourites are discontinued. Was impressed with sp9000.... is it?....he had fitted testing new donut bushes. But I was only sitting in the passenger seat....
Was it the MV6? If so, Dunlop SP9000 :). If it was the Elite, Michelin Pilot Sport 2  :(.

in 75,000 miles i've only had 2 sets of tyres. It had Goodyear Eagle Ventures on it when i bought it, they were super hard, did 48k in them  :o

Lacked grip though at times  ::)

Now on Falkins, 912's on rear 917's on the front, there is less road noise with them, grip better too. Wear rate is slightly worse, done just 30k on the fronts, and i'd say they have about 5-8k left
No tramlining issues, but then again i don't have a lot of power, and its been WIM'd!
What IS the matter with you T? 35k from 912s?  And btw, they are appalling tyres on the omega.
We should applaud the Useless Student for having the discipline to drive like an old woman as long as he is not in front of me

Yep mv6, so what will be next tyres? Seeing as sp9000 are discontinued?

I really don't know - not found anything better than the SP90x0, and always returned to them after flirting with other tyres....

A048s? R888s? I'll guarantee they'll have more grip than the SP9000s ;)

True, but the SP90x0 have sensible durability...  ...for me, a perfect compromise  :'(

Probably a wee bit less lethal in the wet, too.. You could try the AD08s, although if their durability is like the LTS, they won't last very long either :-/

Its like the P6000s - not normally a tyre I would use, but simply stunning on the Rover. They aren't made either now, replaced with some gay, pointless eco tyre.

Might be worth trying KU31s. Been happy with them and £85 a corner.

Some of the slightly less sticky Yokohama stuff perhaps? Parada Spec 2? A539? Toyo T1-R?

The issue with the P6000 is there was about 10000 different OEM versions of it.

Unfortunately for the P6000, nearly all of them were rubbish: http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Pirelli/P6000.htm
