the size of the exhaust and turbo are the only things that are stopping such a conversion ? anyone know what the compression ratio is of these saab turbos ? , and what power they give , i still think its easier buy a monaro than getting a v8 and running gear and putting it in an omega cant be that hard to get a saab engine on the cheap and making it fit

Of course it's easier to buy an Ls1 equiped production car. But this side of, what, 12k? There ain't no toys in there. No remote window and sunroof closing, no heated auto memory seats/mirrors/rear view mirror, rear blind, rain sensing wipers and all the other Elite Omega Stuff. Ok Elite toys aren't for everyone, fair enough. But stick an Ls1 in an elite with proper suspension and brakes and that's what I call cake and eat it time. ESP if the v8 runs on LPG at a later date(if the price per litre comes back down again)

Well that's my thinking...? But I'm all ears if anybody has a better plan. Should add, Elite concerned has Irmscher everything, if you like that sort of thing. 8-)

ok, think it through, where are the turbo(s) and exhuast routing going to go?

Dont get me wrong, if it works on the v6, it might work on the v8 too.   ;D  ;D

nothing can replace engine volume, no turbo issues, no cooling problems.. my vote goes to ls series..at least worth the money spend imo.. when playing up with the turbo any mistake done, you will have a bang and all spend and work done evaporizes :-/

wat is the differnce of the saab v6 turbo to the omega ? , are they not the same family of engine surely there cant be more work in getting it into an omega than a rover v8 and its gearbox ?? and the price of an ls1 and box , changing the steering box to rack etc i think it would be cool to have a saab v6 turbo engine in it , different from the norm anyway , and doesent seem to be totally different engine from the original v6 im surprised no one else has done it sooner

If its the 3.0 Saab turbo your looking at then there is only 2 BHP difference, really not worth the trouble
