v6 cam belt

if a 3 litre v6 jumps a couple of teeth om the cam belt whats the chances of valve damage?.its ronning as rough as hell and weve checked every sensor and the coil pack and plugs and leads and everythings working as it should.and te belt jumping is all that it can be and it sounds tappy from the top end

if you know its definately jumped a couple of teeth, have you tried to refit?

havent had the covers off it yet.as weve tryed everything else this is the only thing i can think of.its saying cam sensor voltage to high.and my thinking is as its a new cam sensor and its running the belt jumpping is all i can think off cos we tried the cam sensor on my v6 calibra and that ran fine

and my mates just told me its due a belt so i think it strip it down time.if it was out whats chances of valve damage?

does it tick over very rough/wants to stall.
will it rev over 2k & sound ok?

it ticks over and sounds like a bag of nuts n bolts it will rev but very hesitantly as soon as you put it in reverse or drive and touch the throtle it dies but will move back and forwards if you dont touch the gas

no only when you rev it on tick over it sounds like its running on 2 cylinders

take the EGR valve off, give it a good clean inside with carb cleaner, or you could just make a blanking plate up at its base. x2 torx bolts. this may sort you out.  :y

blanked the egr valve when first got it as it was leaking

mmmmm
have you had owt to bits on the inlet/plenum. check all vac connections are tight. other than that, yes check the situation of the cambelt. if valves were hitting pistons then you would have a loud knocking not a tappy sound. i did manage to save a 3.0l that went a few teeth out. :y
