Senator AR35 onto and omega
« on: 24 January 2011, 21:35:03 »

Im sure this has been asked before but are there any major differences between the AR35 on my senator and the AR28 on the MV6? I need to do the thrust washer but while im there i may aswell fit a re-built AR35 that ive had kicking around.

It won't work, both are AR35's but the ECU connections are different IIRC. Senator has ALDL connectivity for the Diags whereas Omega has OBDII so the ECU's are different as well.

So vauxhall put was already a weak gearbox in the 2.5 into the the 2.6 and expected it to last! The old AR25 could barely cope with the old 2.0 ohc engine!

The more i work on omegas the more vauxhall infuriate me, pency pinching everywhere on what essentially is a superb car built on the cheap, the reason i need to change the box is because of the Thrust washer issue which i beleive mine has!

I might just pull the engine out and stick a 12v straight six in it!
