It looks like i have just been stiffed by the agency i work for  >:( >:(

for the last week i have been chasing an unpaid invoice for December, their terms are 7 days, and they have never been very good at sticking to them, i must add they are their terms not mine.

Heard through the company i am placed with that this agency are having financial difficulties and by all accounts are struggling to pay a lot of contractors.

so its a case of down the courts tomorrow and try to get them in for non payment, however they also owe me for most of Jan and it looks like that is a lost cause.......

i hate people who do this, i just want to go round to his office and take goods to the effect of.......either that or ram my fist down his throat

tinkers   >:( >:( >:( >:(

my mates having the same problem, he's just came back from working in Quatar for an agency from the UK. The thing to try and find out is the company you were effectively working for (not the agency), ask them whether they have been paying the agency, if you can confirm this, then makes your case just as strong. Nevertheless, obviously you have a contract with the agency, and as such they owe you, errmm Sammy sledge springs to mind amongst other things 8-)

I bet the owner of the agency company isn't going short.

It happened to me a few years ago, I paid a £4000 deposit to a company who knew they were going bust but carried on taking deposits. If I ever found out where the owner lived >:(

i have spoken to the company who pay the agency, they have been really helpful..

they have held back payment on the last invoice, they have told me and 2 other contractors that so long as the receivers don't ask for the invoice to be paid they will pay it to us direct at our daily rate, but this could take  a few months.

my view is i would rather wait a few months that go through the receivers and have to wait 18 months for something like 5p in the £, now that would send me over the edge.. >:(

my missus is spitting feathers currently, she just wants to do a 'bobbit' on the guy  ;D

A it stands currently a CHAPS payment has been received with my bank for Decembers invoice, i now have to get Jans out of him as well.......

Does anyone know if aCHAPS payment can be recalled, i am worried that he has done this to prevent me going to court, and then later on today/tomorrow recall the payment and we are back to square one.....

I suppose Chopsdad would be the best one to answer that.....where's a bank manager when you need one!!!!!

CHAPS

CHAPS is an electronic bank-to-bank same-day value payment made within the UK in either sterling or euro.

The main benefit of CHAPS is that it is fast, secure and efficient and the money is transferred the same day. Unlike other forms of payment such as cheques, CHAPS payments are irrevocable.

CHAPS is one of the largest real-time gross settlement (RTGS) systems in the world. Banks themselves use CHAPS to move money around the financial system, but it is also used regularly:

for business-to-business payments;
by solicitors/licensed conveyancers to transfer the purchase price of a house between the bank accounts of those involved;
by individuals buying or selling a high-value item, such as a car, who need a secure, urgent, same-day guaranteed payment.

Sounds like you have a result.
