No guide. Easy enough, if you can find a way to seal the exhaust.

Mine was whirring every time I started the engine.  Sounded like a plane.  I just disconnected the fuse.  (altho number 29b on mine I believe as I have AC.  might be 29a, just double check ;) )

hope that helps mate :)

Three options, pull fuse, unplug unit or remove totally :)

mainly done when the pump goes faulty and sounds very loud for 30 seconds on startup.

Dear Friends

I removed the whole thing, just out of curiosity and for some cleaning.
If I say I'm curious, I mean it :) ....so I drilled out the 6 aluminum rivets tightening the cover of the motor.
I thought I just pull the motor out of its plastic housing....but that thing does not tend to come out.

Did anyone ever removed it ? HOW ?

If you take the whole lot out then it saves carting several kilos of weight around. That's about it really.

I removed mine totally and connected a blanked off 15mm copper pipe to the rubber unions. Seems to have worked ok.

Also, makes access to the cambelt etc a whole lot easier on the V6s.

1. No, 2.0's have it.

2. Not just now, but there's a pump under the NS wing/bumper just ahead of the left front wheel, some rubber pipework from there to a valve near the power-steering reservoir, then a non-return valve and metal pipework to the exhaust manifold.
