glad youve finally got there.

personally find a decent code reader an invaluble part of a toolkit, makes things a lot easier when you know what the ecu is reporting.

So, your going to try and make do with the 2 x 135 coil packs permanently?  can imagine a removable 'seal' would be tricky to make.

How much for a decent code reader/deleter Mr Jimbob.?

I will source a 246  coil pack......£61.50 inc postage for a brand new Bosch 135 was good value ..I think. :y

Well done Opti 8-)

I bought a Maxiscan MS509 following good reports from Nige (Entwood)

This has proved invaluable in identifying a fault on my Desmond and clearing the relevant fault codes.

It paid for itself on the first occasion I used it.

I'll get a link for it shortly.

Thanks for the link ..Z. It looks like a pretty comprehensive piece of kit.The price looks reasonable too.

I'll resist the temptation to ask about "your Desmond"....... ;D ;D ;)

I am curious about this.

Do you need a laptop?

MS509 is a stand alone device .. no laptop. no power cables .. just plug into OBDII socket and away it goes .. it is one "up" from my MS500 which has been "superceded" it appears .. but still works !!

:)

A list of decent devices .. but you can buy elsewhere .. however AVOID EBAY .. most are chinese clones and have problems .. genuine only IMHO .. :)
