i have a 2003 2.2 lpg/petrol omega the previous owner told me the lpg was factory fitted. did vauxhall do this as an extra, does anyone else have it fitted??

 as i have no history with the car i dont know who did it
do lpg tanks have to go through an inspection every few years?? dont want to be driving around with a bomb in my boot even tho it goes like a bomb lol.

IIRC there were no Omega's with "Factory Fitted" LPG. It will be an aftermarket system in some form... Can you have a look around for the kit brand?

In answer to your question about tanks... They are pressure certified for 10 years when new Unfortunately it'll probably be cheaper to have a new tank fitted than to get the existing one certified

Gerry - It was never technically "factory fit" it was retro fitted afterwards, but before it was delivered.

No real maintenance on LPG apart from the fuel filter, and as LD says, tanks pressure tested every 10 years

They definitely did Astra and Vectra. I think they also did Corsa but don't recall ever hearing of an Omega :-/ But yes, I think it did use the fuel gauge on the dash for both fuels

I think mine was done from new, I looked into it and was told a Koltec kit , branded Opel, was suplied with the car and VX dealers used the nearest installer to have it fitted. Mine shares the petrol fuel gauge.

I stand corrected then It's the first Omega I've heard of converted from new, and also the first V6 too

Tunnie, just a quick one on your comment.... ref the fuel filter, is that a LPG filter or petrol filter? Sorry if thats a daft question but this is my first car with LPG and know nothing about these systems.

Offically its 10k, but thats cause most systems are polish, and their LPG is not as clean as ours.

Every 30k or so its worth replacing
