Unable to clear fault code and others
« on: 06 April 2011, 17:06:02 »

Hi Guys,

while I was fighting my cold start problem(http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1297603441) and had replaced ignition system, cleaned the inlet and checked everything double(for my possible water leak causing smell...), something must have happened.

(x30xe 1998)
The symptom is I have got all the faultcodes I made on purpose when tested the car (unplugged some sensors..etc), after we put together the car the cold start was fine, but I could not clear the stored fault codes eith my "My Naff Code Reader".

The strange 750rpm idle rave remained, today I replaced the ECU itself too, and with the new one the idle rev decreased to 600, and every measured value was OK.
But this ECU have got other stored codes from its history which I am still unable to clear!

Do you know anything about these Motronics' mind?

Another quiestion: if I disconnect the knock sensors, how do the ecu set knock retard? (no faultcode or MIL with neither ECUs)

This car is always challenging me, I cannot deside wether to hat or love it :)
