Anyone point me to the guide for doing the tracking (if there is one ) have searched but cant seem to find it.
Just had mine done it was out and took 2 minutes to realign i thought this was quite a hard job to do or at least a pain

omegas are 4point traking not like on other cars, cannot realy do it by sight....

tracking alone is a waste of time, and even properly tracked can and does destroy tyres very quickly.


Full geometry is needed to ensure camber etc is all set as it should be (and not just in the green on the machine, they NEED very specific settings)  see the wheelsinmotion website for details and some recomended centres.

i thought this guy had NOT done it right he undid the four bolts on the two lower bars adjusted one bar then tightened the bolts back up 2 minutes £30 see ya later

What you need to do from bury....is take a trip to Nigel Langs garage in Bolton.

ring and book in, ask for full geometry, about £90 or so.

Ill be there myself Thursday afternoon

Reading this thread with interest.

I've had my MV6 daily for a year now!! And it's been good as gold, but it's heading towards needing 4 new boots and I've noticed it's definitely wearing the front nearside inner tyre down excessively. Are there any tracking / tyre centres in the Bath area that can be trusted to do the geometry right?

To be honest .. from Swindon I go to WIM at Chesham, Bath is not that much further. It's a good day out and they do know what they are doing .. plus you get the OOF discount at Chesham.

If you don't wish to travel you can use one of the "franchises" .. but you don't get the OOF discount that way ..

No there isn't one. But, it's fairly easy but time consuming, provided the track rod adjusters are not seized. Park the vehicle with steering wheel straight ahead at 12 o clock, then adjust the track rod so the outside edge of the front wheel, when viewed from the front, lines up exactly with the leading edge of the rear wheel. Do one side at a time and drive the car back and forth between each adjustment to get a true reflection of the wheel position due to the contact patch of the tyre griping the road.

Pic. Below shows the front wheel toed out when the steering wheel is straight, it needs to be adjusted so the 1.1/4 inches of visible rear tyre is no longer visible. If your really fussy this method should give the desired -0.10 minutes toe in.

But as said, never use this as a final set up method. Rather a basic setting after work carried out, such as track rod or wish bone replacement. Or fitting lower springs as in this case.

And now you've sorted your tracking out you need to do something with that exhaust

I fitted Pirelli P6000s just over a year ago and have done less than 10,000 miles on them. The front ones have worn unevenly but I've had the wheel alignment checked and corrected twice during that time.

Should I be getting more than just the alignment done - steering geometry is mentioned several times I think? Also does it make much difference which brand of tyres I use, I have always found Continentals to be very good?
